What if....Huck wasn't really dead? What if he was given a second chance, with renewed hopes and new powers?

The story takes place during the rocket scene, after it exploded and Huck crashed into the ground, but before the Daltons or Bob arrived to check him over...

One would never think of the open desert as a place for worst case scenario, unless you happened to be Sheriff Huckleberry Hound. His worst case was being strapped onto a giant rocket by the Dalton Gang, launched into the sky where it exploded, then come crashing back onto the ground.

The Hound, unbeknownst to either the Dalton Gang or his trusty horse, Bob, was miraclously still alive, but barely. The moment he crashed onto the ground, he tried to crawl away to somewhere safe and rest, but the lack of strength resulted in Huck collasping to the ground, breathing heavily from the pain.

His vision blurred, trying in vain to stay awake as the darkness started to come. The last thing he saw before he blacked out were three figures, who came rushing to see what had happened.

------------------------

When they heard the crash, the three natives from a shaman tribe, Desert Flower, Aurora and Abby (A cowgirl visiting the shaman tribe) rushed over to the make shift rocket and found a poor Hound on the ground, burnt, bruised, cut and hurt! Desert Flower, a yellow hound with her hair pulled back in two low braids, was the first to check Huck for any signs of life!

"Is he...?" Aurora, the hedgehog, asked in dread. Desert Flower pulled back with a soft smile. "He's fine...His heart beat's weak, but I think he's holding on." She answered, before she looked over at them as Abby sighed in relief!

"Ho howdy! Poor thing looks 'bout as beat up as a bull after a week long rodeo! Should we help him?" Abby asked. Aurora nodded as she checked the Hound over.

"I think so. I sensed the good in his life energy...Nobody would try and hurt a good person without a reason or why." Replied Aurora. Desert Flower stroked Huck's hair unconsciously before looking at Aura. "Can you help him?" She asked, before Aurora thought about it.

"I think so...Might need to look up the scrolls for help, but I believe so... Let's get him back to the village, fast!" Aurora suggested. Abby nodded before she carefully picked the Hound up in her arms, as the other girls stood up.

"But what'll happen if someone comes to find him and wants to hurt him again?" Aurora asked. Desert Flower rubbed her chin in thought, before an idea came to her! She quickly gathered some grass, a small old log, a tumble weed and some daisies before she made a crude makeshift mannequin.

She then stepped back, held her paws over it and started to chant in an ancient tongue, her daisy shaped crystal started to glow in a magical aura. A magic circle with a daisy design glowed under the dummy, making the dummy glow as the light enveloped it.

Once she was done, Desert Flower smiled softly at the manequinn, now in a lifeless form of Huck, same appearance as said Hound, but with more burns and cuts to hide the evidence of the fake.

With that done, Desert Flower turned to her friends and nodded. "Let's go. I feel that he will be needed to stop a growing nightmare." She replied. The two nodded and followed her to thier horses and rode off. They traveled for some time, while Abby checked to make sure that the Hound she was carrying was still alright.

Before long, the three friends made it back to the native village. The village itself was in a form of hogans, tipis and earth lodges for the native tribe, special log cabins and small homes for the visitors or people staying in the village permanently.

A ceremonial wigwam for ceremonies, or performing different encantations, but what was different from all of the other tribal villages were the totems.

Carved into seven colored crystal spires, each one representing an animal and element, with three spires in the middle of the village, representing the sun, moon and stars in sunstone, moonstone and star stone.

(Author's Note: I know it's not a real stone, but let's pretend it is in this fic.)

Abby followed both Desert Flower and Aurora into the wigwam, where they saw Chief Brave Heart (Desert Flower's dad, because his name wasn't really revealed in the movie!), chatting with the deputy mayor, J.S. Snerdley.

Abby bit back a blush as Snerdley and Brave Heart looked over at the women! "Desert Flower! What is going on? Who is that in Abby's arms?" He said, pointing at Huck's unconscious form.

"We do not know, Father, we heard a crash and ran over to inspect the cause of the noise!" Desert Flower started! Abby and Aurora agreed! "We found him like this, Sir, but his spirit is good, I sense it! He's weak and needs to be healed!" Aurora explained.

Snerdley looked over at the chief. "Do you think we can help him? It is your village afterall, Chief." The deputy mayor said. The chief went over and looked the Hound over. It was his village, but so many changes had come during the course of time, ones that made the village better and made the bonds between both tribes and the outsiders strong. Brave Heart looked at them and nodded.

"We should help him. If what the girls said is true, then no doubt that this stranger will be the one our people need in both worlds." He said.

They looked up at him at that as he continued. "He is no ordinary stranger...I too sense a strong spirit within his heart...The Blue Star from the ancient prophecy...!" Snerdly and Abby looked at him! "What the sam hill are ya talkin' 'bout, Chief?" Abby asked.

The chief looked over at the woman, who had been given a kind of prosthetic arm and legs, made from parts of an old train and powered by the magic of the crystals.

"The prophecy in our village explained that a hero will appear, one who has a spirit that shines like a star, a heart as pure as crystal and a soul untouched by the darkness. The hero will appear in the form of a blue stranger, who came onto earth like a shooting star, and will one day stop the evil of the dark ones, who have formed an empire of darkness and injustice." Brave Heart said.

The others looked at him before Snerdley spoke! "Well, if he's who you think he is, then how do we help him?"

The chief looked over at Aurora with a soft smile. "Our healers would heal others using special magic, but Aurora was born from the life magic. She will heal this stranger, but will need to use two more crystals in order to do so." He said. "It will be tough..."

Aurora nodded before he continued. "I'll do it!" The girls looked at thier hedgehog friend! "Are you sure?" asked Desert Flower. "Yes...I'll be tired after this, and it'll take some time, but he'll be alright if the process goes without any problems." She stated.

The chief nodded before they went over to the middle of the wigwam, where Abby placed Huck and got him situated. Aurora stood beside the Hound as Desert Flower stood next to her, while Snerdley and Abby stood outside of the magic circle, drawn onto the ground.

Brave Heart went over to Aurora after grabbing two crystals, a sunstone and moonstone, and handing them to her. Aurora silently thanked him as she got into position and held the crystals in her paws, concentrating on it's powers.

Everyone waited in silence as the magic circle appeared under Huck's form, as the hedgehog started chanting in the same foreign tongue of the village. Her body glowed in a soft white light, her blue eyes went blank as she performed a special healing spell, as both the crystals in her paws and crystal pendant glowed.

The crystals, both in spire form and the bits of crystals growing in the village, glowed in time with the spell being performed as small orbs of light flew over to the wigwam!

Desert Flower watched before they all saw Huck being lifted off the ground by the magic, the wounds started to heal bit by bit as a pair of angelic wings of pure light appeared under Huck.

The wings slowly grew until they were almost as big as a thunder bird's, then the wings slowly wrapped around Huck's form, almost to the point of hugging him, until he was encased in the feathery orb of light.

The spirit's energy illuminated the orb, almost like a star, as the wind picked up a bit in the very room! Then, as quickly as it came, the orb of light vanished in a flash of feathers, as Huck stood in the middle of the circle!

Desert Flower smiled softly in relief as Aurora knelt onto the ground, exhausted from the spell!

There stood Huck, but different...

His wounds and burns were no more, as if he was never harmed at all. The clothes he wore looked like new, with simple star designs on them, and his badge seemed to shine like new.

His body bore markings of ice blue color, (but would glow a powder blue color when his powers are used) as well as star designs on the corners of his eyes, the tips of his ears, paws and feet, back, hair, neck and tip of his tail! And his hat, which was same by new in design, fell softly to the ground.

Huck groaned softly as his eyes twitched, before he opened them, revealing a pair of ice blue eyes that held the light of life! He blinked before he looked around, his eyes catching sight of Desert Flower, who blushed shyly at the cute handsome stranger! Huck himself blushed a bit before he spoke.

"Wh-where am I...? What happened...?" He asked, before he looked at himself! "And what happened ta me?" Brave Heart and the others went over to him.

"You are in our village. My daughter and her friends found you in the desert, harmed and burnt. They brought you here so you could be healed." He explained. The hound looked at him before he looked at the others.

"I-I remember now...The Dalton Gang...Th-they...They strapped me onto a rocket and sent me off...I tried ta ask my friends ta help me, but they got scared and ran away, leaving me to fight the gang myself..." Huck said with his head bowed.

"I...I gotta get back...Gotta stop the Daltons, before they hurt my friends...!" He started, but Desert Flower gently took his paws into her own. "You need to rest first...! If you go fight those horrid men, they might kill you...!" She explained. The others agreed!

"She's right. And you need to prepare youself for when you fight them. You yourself have aquired the ability to use magic." Brave Heart said, making Huck look up at him in shock! "But how?! And how can I use them when I only just got them?!" He said!

He looked over at Aurora as she approached him! "Long story, but we can teach you how to use your powers, and control them. It may be the only way to defeat the Daltons and save your friends." She said, before Desert Flower smiled softly at Huck, as he looked into the eyes of the young hound girl.

"We know you can do it, I know you will defeat them and win...!" She said. Huck smiled softly with a slight chuckle. "Um...Ya sure I ain't in heaven?" He asked. "Why do you say that?" Asked Desert Flower.
"Cause yer a beautiful angel...And I'm much obliged fer yer kindness, Miss...?"
Desert Flower giggled a bit with a dusting of rose blush on her cheeks! "They call me Desert Flower...!" She answered.
"Yer name's almost as pretty as your face." Huck said. The other women giggled as Snerdley chuckled, but got an eyeroll from Brave Heart!
Desert Flower felt her face heat up even more at the kind comment! "And what is your name, mysterious blue hombre?" She asked.
"My name? It's Huckleberry Hound, but ya'll can call me Huck if'an ya want." Huck replied.
"Huckleberry...Such a wonderful name...Please, let us prepare a feast, to welcome you into our village, and we shall tend to you until you are well." Desert Flower said.
Huck chuckled as he straightened his bandana! "Well, in that case, I hope I never get well!" He said jokingly!

And it was from that moment on, Desert Flower and Huckleberry Hound had developed a special bond of love...

Over time, Huck had been trained in the art of controlling and using his magic abilities to good use, even learning how to communicate in his spirit form! And when he wasn't training, he was hanging out with his friends, and even going out with Desert Flower, which had grown from a budding crush to a fully bloomed love.

When the time had come for Huck to defeat the Dalton Gang, Huck used his head think it out, and used his spirit form to find his friends...In the end, the gang of friends had defeated the Dalton Gang and won back Two-Bit, destroying the Dalton Empire in the process!

However, instead of telling his pals the truth, Huck decided to just "Fade away" and let them think of something else, which was alright with him. Huck and Desert Flower got married in the village, a union between two souls.

They both made thier home in a desert, close to the lush of flowers and lake, where they had gone for thier dates, and built a farm to raise thier goats and pigs, and a family of three pups: Sawyer, Butterscotch and Sky Blue Hound.

There had been other adventures for Huck and his friends, ones that had brought them back together again in a union of friendship, forgiveness, redemption and trust. But that's another tale for another day...
This is my version of :iconiheartgod175:'s recent story, The Ghost of Huckleberry Hound. Unfortunately, I had to skim the story because it was too sad for me to read. Great story, but too sad!

Anyways, I thought of a possibility in which Huck could've been helped by Desert Flower, but in a different scenario.

The story takes place after the prologue of the GoHH, but plays out in Desert Flower, then Huck's views. Snerdley makes an appearance in here as the deputy mayor of the village/town, which in my mind might've been formed after the native tribes and the townspeople worked together to stop an evil spirit from destroying their land.

So in this one, Huck's been healed. But in the process, he himself receives the abilities to use magic and sometimes healing magic. This was actually inspired by my oc, Aurora the Hedgehog, who uses life energy to heal wounds. Markings on Huck's body are based on Aurora's, but how they were formed are based on Avatar Aang's markings on his body. And I thought it'd be cool to imagine Huck using a kind of ability, where he uses his spirit to contact his friends, while he stays in the village, that might explain the reason why his "Ghost" would appear with his friends.

One more thing! I kinda left the other parts from the movie, HuckxDesert Flower scenes and tribe scenes out, so I apologize, but please use your imaginations to see this in your head!

So anyways, hope you like it and I will post the art of Huck's magical origin on DA soon!

Notes:
the first two initials in Snerdley's first and middle name are based on his voice actor, who did the voice of Captain Snerdley from the Galaxy Goof-Ups series.
Abby's cybernetic prosthetics are loosely based on the steampunk western theme in Wild Wild West movie, starring Will Smith. Never saw the movie myself, but I basically thought that perhaps in America, there's some kind of steampunk theme in the west.
