Stella the Kustine Hybrid

So I was inspired by  on creating this character, but I was ALSO inspired by the recent episodes of DragonBall Super Universal Arc, with the different Gods and Angels. I actually had a what if idea --

What if there were others like Celeste in different universes/worlds? This is the answer!

Since I was in a Super Mario Bros. mood lately, I've wanted to design a character, a kind of guardian heralding from Mario's world. For her outfit design, I wanted to create an outfit based on the Italian and Japanese dresses and outfits. Italian, based on Mario and Luigi's nationality, and Japanese, a reference to where the Mario Bros. game originated from.

Her name's Stella, btw, which is Italian for Star. It suited her perfectly, and Italian names are beautiful! Her species is a human fox, I got the idea from Inu Yasha, because I loved the concept of a half human, half fox character. Her hair color and body markings I was inspired by Okami's tail, from a game called Okami. Which is about a white wolf called Amateresu. The game ROCKS, but I only watched the longplay though. But it's STILL my fave!

Her bio, I thought maybe since this idea was inspired by DBS, I could have Stella be a kind of sister to Celeste. Like an older sister! Stella's the protective one of the two, because she loves her sister very much. She's kind and compassionate like her sister, but she's brave, strong and fiercely loyal to her younger sister and her allies. She's very smart since she's read and studied from the books she's read. She's also good at martial arts and different types of karate and hand to hand combat forms, since she's the one who'll protect Celeste in case anyone tried to hurt her.

However, that doesn't mean she has no weaknesses. Stella often gets into situations where she acts before she thinks, resulting in her getting into trouble. She's also stubborn at times, never wanting to admitt that she's wrong, and her emotions are what clouds her mind at times. Her sadness and anger she tends to try and bottle up, especially when it comes to her sister. If anything were to happen to her, Stella would get angry at herself for failing to protect her little sister, or hide her sadness due to her doubts and fears.

Her pyshical weakness also effect her. She has sensitive hearing due to her fox ears, but VERY high pitched noises can hurt her ears. Her tail, when grabbed VERY hard, can make her feel weak and make her body freeze. (Got the idea from how Sayains get weak when thier tails are grabbed.). Also, her sense of smell can be powerful, but certain smells can effect her as well, like strong bad smells.

Her strengths though are thanks to her part fox traits. Her ears can pick up noises, like soft noises, she can pick up certain smells of humans, her claws help her in combat, she can run as fast as a fox and her flexibility can be of great help when fighting or escaping danger. Her jewel is a sapphire around the top of her chest area, which (Like Celeste's emerald) can be linked to it's power source of her world. In this case, it would be a special Power Star of Mario's world, the Grand Star. Stella would ONLY use this if things got serious, like an intense battle against an enemy.

I honestly am stuck with ideas as to what Stella's purpose is. One idea I had was that she could be the one who creates different Power Ups of Mario's world. (Ex. Fire and Ice Flowers, Power Stars, Mushrooms, etc.) But then I also had an idea that she could possess some elemental powers. (Fire, Water, Lightning, Nature, Earth, Ice, Light...) Like I said, I'm kinda stuck. But maybe I could make it 50/50, a balance of both ideas. Or maybe she could have elemental powers, using those to create half of the Power Ups. Still deciding...

She likes training, studying and reading, meditating, Celeste, visiting her world, fruits, making friends, Mario and friends and discovering new and wonderful things. She dislikes bullies, evil people, being away from her sister, failing, seeing her sister hurt emotionally or pyshically and self hate.

Like how Celeste formed a special friendship with Sonic and his friends, Stella formed a special friendship with Mario, Luigi and thier friends. My idea would be that during one of Bowser's attempts to take control of the Mushroom Kingdom, Stella would be summoned by Rosalina, the Princess of the Stars, to aid Mario and Luigi into defeating Bowser. Upon arrival, the Brothers would be skeptical of the guardian at first, but would realize that she's there to help them. During thier adventures, Stella would see how close Mario and Luigi are as brothers, like how close she and Celeste are as sisters, even finding some things in common with said Brothers.

She feels the sense of courage, eagerness and playfulness from Mario, while she sensed the kindness, loyalty and honesty from Luigi. In fact, she only feels comfort in telling the Brothers her feelings when things got down, because she's used to telling Celeste her feelings. Stella would eventually develope feelings for Luigi or even Mario (Dunno which one though!), whom she saw as a cute man with a big heart, but feels that he would not feel the same for her in return.

It would be thier combined teamwork that would defeat Bowser when things got REALLY bad near the end. With no other way, Stella would use the power of her sapphire to bestow both Mario and Luigi thier upgraded abilties with thier Firebrand and Thunderhand, but would also be given thier Super Forms. (Idea of the Super Form I got from the Super Mario Bros. Z flash animation, which is a REALLY cool idea for a Mario/Sonic flash movie by one of the creators, and I hope there's more to see!) This idea I was inspired by 's fanart pic of how Sonic obtained his Super Form from Celeste. (I highly suggest seeing her pics because they're so awesome! ^^)

EDIT: I just remembered my other half of Stella's hybrid inspiration! I was looking up some Mario fan art on the internet, I came across a DeviantArtist named silver151 , or currently known now as Platiniridium, who came up with an idea of Mario as a kind of fox guardian.

Now unfortunately, I cannot read Kanji, so I have NO idea what this story's about, BUT I just absolutely LOVE the design! So it was a big inspiration for me for my character!

EDIT: I also wanted to bring up one thing. I used my iPod to take the picture, then edited the brightness on my art program. So sorry if it looks a bit trashy!
